We will start with cycling on sea level to climb from Las Americas to Chio. In Chio it is possible cyclists of the 100 km (B*) tour will join us. After a small coffee break we will have a short decend to Taimaimo where we start to climb to Santiago del Teide. There begins the first of three steep hills which lead us through a spectacular Masca Valley. If you cycle through the Masca area you will understand why this is protected by Unesco. It is definitely a breathtaking area.
After the last steep hill we have a long decent down to Buenavista del Norte where we will have a break. After the break we cycle to Garachico where we will start to climb over nice quiet roads back to Erjos. While we are climbing we see stunning views over the northen island and the coast with lots of banana plantations. Later on “the peak” of El Teide looks at us from our left side. When we are back in Santiago del Teide we will have a short break and after that we will climb until in front of the village Arguayo where directly we start a long decent. These road will bring us via Chio with a couple of climbing meters between back till the finish in Las Americas.
