This tour will be for the well trained cyclist. The climbing pace is approximately between 12-15 km/h. We will start with cycling at sea level and we climb from Las Americas, Chio, Taimaimo, Santiago del Teide trough the area of Erjos. While we are cycling we can see the peak of El Teide for the whole day on our right side. Our first break will be after we passed Chinyero forest area, between El Amparo and La Guancha. At our the left side we will have for the whole day a beautiful view on the altantic ocean and with a spectacular stop at viewing Point El Lance. There we see whole the coast to the North of Tenerife when the sky is clear.
Before we begin to climb 44 km to the cablecab at Pico del Teide we will take first a break. The hardest part of these climbs will be on the end so we need to have good energy. After 30 km of climbing we will reached El Portillo where you will see the start of the crater when you arrived from the North side. The last 10 km can be really hard because it could be possible that the wind is blowing from the opposite direction. Don’t worry, in the middle we have a small break and the satisfaction will be meter by meter bigger because of coming closere to the Pico del Teide at the cablecab, the end point. Then the road will go more down with a little bit of Canarian flat till Boca Tauce. There we have the last climbing meters ouf of the crater and after that we will end with a long decend back to the coast via Vilaflor, Arona to Las Americas.
