The BMC Trailfox 01 has a frame with a geometry that satisfies the demands of the aggressive riding style of the all-mountain and the Enduro. It is bigger, has a wilder character and is more capable than ever.
The design was based on several premises: inspire confidence in the cyclist, achieve a bike with agility and pay attention to all details.
Agility based on short pods in combination with a short power and a low bottom bracket are the key to the agility of the Trailfox.
Attention to detail with the internal wiring system that allows any configuration that can be desired. The FD support can be removed, which is an advantage for those who want to ride a single dish. In addition, the ISCG brackets offer the possibility of mounting a chain guide.
This model features the APS – Advanced Pivot System – which optimises the kinematics and positioning of the pivot, lever ratio and shaft and damping trajectories. The result is a lightweight, rigid and compact structure that achieves excellent control and optimal energy transfer for the cyclist.
Accelerating generates an inertia force that tends to compress the damping system. With the APS system, this effect is counterbalanced because the pivot points of the rear suspension are carefully calculated so that the inertia generated by the acceleration is not misdirected and compresses the shock absorber, but it is the tension of the chain that compensates for this effect. As a result, all pedalling power is used to propel the bike without any loss of energy. The damping system ensures optimum traction and ensures that the power is transferred to the ground.
The unified rear triangle is attached to the main structure using two short links, the superior being the one that acts on the shock absorber. The result is a lightweight, rigid and compact structure. The shock absorbs the impacts, providing excellent comfort for the athlete.
An important element of change in the world of mountain biking has been the 29-inch wheels, which make the exits in difficult terrain much more comfortable. The increase in wheel diameter brings more control, comfort, confidence and, no need to mention it, more speed to the mix. Julien Absalon chose the Big Wheel concept of BMC in 2013 and won the world Championship in 2014 thanks to this approach to every test
BWC – Big Wheel concept – maximises the quality of the 29 wheel tread and maintains fun and agility, with a well-oriented geometry and improved details in the control area. Lower bottom bracket and shorter rear pods improve traction and control, while a more generous upper tube and shorter power create a more confident position for the athlete. BWC focuses on the elements that transfer the advantages of the large wheels to the terrain.
Table full carbon with a weight of 2,490 g including loose parts (rear shock absorber, frame protection, chain guide, Chain catch, bolts, lock seat post and rear axle). Protections of the sheaths and the diagonal tube manufactured in injected mould. Support for optional and replaceable front derailleur.
