The BMC Team Machine was created with the requirements of world tour racers Philippe Gilbert, Cadel Evans and Tejay van Garderen, who asked BMC for a bicycle that combined lightness for long climbs with the best acceleration for aggressive attacks. The Teammachine SLR02 has been designed for those seeking a performance of the Teammachine SLR01 with which it shares the geometry and Ace technology.
The carbon frame of the Teammachine SLR02 has been developed using the ACE Technology (Accelerated Composites evolution Technology) and perfectly reflects the principles governing Teammachine SLR01; Excellent agility and maximum control, offering stability and safety in driving in fast descents and closed curves.

Lightweight. To make the Teammachine SLR02 more affordable, some design elements have been changed in relation to the Teammachine SLR01, such as the patented seat post and the carbon dropouts, but the frame design and rigidity values remain identical. With a weight of just 950 grammes, the Teammachine SLR02 still offers a very high rigidity in relation to its weight. Lateral stiffness maximises energy transfer, while its torsional strength increases the direction precision.

Comfortable, thanks to the tuned compliance concept (TCC), which combines lateral stiffness with vertical absorption. The orientation and placement of the carbon sheets combined with the shape of the tubes result in extraordinary performance that allows an optimal transmission of energy to the pedal and manages and absorbs the forces and vibrations from the road.

Vertical flexibility is a term that refers to the bending level of the frame of a bicycle. In combination with stiffness, it can consume up to 15% of the energy of a cyclist. The tuned compliance concept focuses on minimising this impact by leveraging the know-how and experience gained from years of bike design, creating the perfect balance between comfort and performance to shape fast, error-forgiving solutions.
BMC Team Machine SLR02
Flexible thanks to the fine straps and positioned lower than usual, the offset toe and fork and seatpost with integrated angles in their design allow the frame to flex vertically. The form forces of the road, blows and vibrations, are not transmitted to the cyclist. The traction on the rear wheel is maintained regardless of the type of road that is wheeled, keeping the transmission of constant energy being this efficient.
Rigid thanks to the large diameter diagonal tube, the steering pipe, sheaths and crown of the forks are manufactured with a high modulus carbon fiber combination to improve lateral stiffness, optimize energy transfer, and improve stiffness torsions to increase handling accuracy.
